You buy a RE-Manufactured bus for the "new" image and for reliability andlong life expectancy. TBC's Conversion Warranty is 12,000 Miles or 12 Months, whichever comes first and the Powertrain Warranty is 5,000 Miles or 5 Months. We go to extensive effort to ensure the bus's image, reliability and life expectancy is surpassed, not just met. Look at the photos in the RE-Manufacturing Processes section and it is clear that we have gone the extra mile to insure your satisfaction. The conversion warranty protects you on bus issues, both interior and exterior. The powertrain warranty protects you on the engine, transmission, and drive train.
The bus interior and exterior is new. Your clients will think they are in a brand new bus.
Some of the engines made after 2004 put in smaller trucks and buses are now consumer grade engines rather than industrial grade as the earlier 2000 - 2004 models. Industrial grade engines have an expected service life exceeding 400,000 miles. On the other hand, consumer grade engines have a service life of about 100,000 miles. We did not make the engine or transmission, however we have gone through them and the 5,000 miles, 5 month warranty is plenty of time verify or correct any hidden issues.
This is why buying a late model used bus may not be the wisest decision. A RE-Manufactured bus with an industrial engine will have a comparable price to a newer "used" bus with a consumer grade engine. If that newer used bus is close to end of expected life, it is not likely to be evident except by the miles or by a breakdown. This is avoidable with a RE-Manufactured bus from The Bus Company. We have been re-manufacturing buses since 2003 and we are good at what we do.
Because we Re-Manufacture buses with industrial grade enginess, most bus engines have plenty of life expectancy left. Book value on buses, with industrial grade engines, does not deduct for miles until they have over 200,000 miles. Once in a great while a bus comes through our RE-Manufacturing processes that has hidden engine problems. Instead of just patching it we actually will RE-Manufacture that entire engine as all RE-Manufactured buses sold, must comply with our 130 Point Certification. This adherience to our quality standards, provides to our clients, the peace of mind they are looking for.
